Description
Part of the Bells Series. Viewed from this less popular vantage point, downed trees are seen floating on Crater Lake after another season of avalanches roar from the Maroon Bells.
The Maroon Bells are a single Massif with multiple peaks reaching over 14,000 ft. The rock that makes up these mountains and the rest of the Elk Mountains is crumbly and very unstable at best. Maroon Peak 14,156' (Left) & North Maroon 14,014' (Right) are known as the Deadly Bells, because of the number of lives they have claimed. Maroon Bells Snowmass Wilderness Area, near Aspen, Colorado USA.
