Autumn view of the Bells with fresh snow, as the water in Maroon Creek streams down the valley.
The Maroon Bells are a single massif with multiple points reaching altitudes of +14,000 ft (Maroon Peak 14,156' Left, North Maroon 14,014' Right). These iconic figures of the Rockies are located in the Elk Mountains Range in the Maroon Bells Snowmass Wilderness Area near Aspen, Colorado USA.
Jeremy Rhoades grew up at 10,400' among the 14ers of the Sawatch Range, Colorado's highest mountains. In his late 20's, he relocated to Alaska in order to fulfill a life-long obsession with "BIG" mountains and extreme snowfall & temperatures. Photography was the way for Jeremy to share the towering mountains of Alaska and a unique, almost surreal light in the northern latitudes. Jeremy has moved back to Colorado & continues to share his love of high altitudes, as mountain landscapes are the clear focus of his work. He hopes you will enjoy the many scenes made available here. Jeremy, wow! What a fantastic shot of the Bells! Perfect color and a different view - that's hard to come by with such an iconic place! L&F
Jeremy Rhoades replied:
Diane, Thank you so much for the encouraging comment and the L&F! I was so pleased to get this less popular shot.
