Description
Western Paintbrush bloom in summer along a goat trail just off pavement from CO Hwy 82 Independence Pass. Independece Pass rises to an elevation of 12,095ft and is on the Continental Divide, all the rain and snow that would fall in this scene will eventually end up in the Gulf of Mexico via the Arkansas & Mississippi Rivers. The pass is also included in the Top of the Rockies Scenic Byway. The high peak in the background is LaPlata Peak (14343 ft), the 5th highest in Colorado. Colorado, USA
