Description
The Bells in late spring before the aspen leaves roll out, from Maroon Lake.
The Maroon Bells are a single Massif with multiple peaks reaching over 14,000 ft. The rock that makes up these mountains and the rest of the Elk Mountains is crumbly and very unstable at best. Maroon Peak 14,156' (Left) & North Maroon 14,014' (Right) are known as the Deadly Bells, because of the number of climber's lives they have claimed. Maroon Bells Snowmass Wilderness Area, near Aspen, Colorado USA.
