A classic view of these Colorado icons near the resort town of Aspen. The Maroon Bells are located in the Elk Mountains of central Colorado. All of the mountain in this Range are very rugged, with brittle rock that makes them difficult to climb. The Maroon Bells made up of Maroon Peak (14,156') & North Maroon (14,014') are often called "The Deadly Bells" due to the number of climbers they have claimed.
